How to Get a New Windows Session in VDI
Step 1. Save any files and/or programs that need to be saved.
Anything not saved will be lost when getting a new Windows session so signing out of any third-party programs such as LoanPro or Five9 and saving any files that need to be saved is advised.
Step 2. Click on the Windows icon in the taskbar and sign out.
To sign out of Windows, you’ll need to click on the Windows icon located in the taskbar (typically at the bottom of the screen) and then click on your name and go to “Sign Out” as seen in the screenshot below.
Step 3. Sign out of the session.
Whenever you sign out of windows, the next screen should look similar to the one you see whenever you sign into your computer. To sign out of the session click on the “Shutdown” button in the bottom left of the screen. A window will pop up with the options shown in the screenshot below. “Sign-off from account…” should already be selected, if not select it since that is all that is needing to be done, and click on “OK” in the bottom right.
Step 4. Sign back into the system.
After clicking “OK” it should take you back to the sign in screen and prompt you to enter your password to log back into the system. Once logged in you’ll be given a new Windows session and will need to open anything you previously had open.
